SVibe Evo Masturbator Review: A Rolling Good Time!

A pair blue and black SVibe Evo masturbators rest against a storage case.
The Evo Masturbator brings SVibe’s slide-and-roll technology to male toys. How does it do? Read on to find out.

According to SVibe, the Evo Masturbator came about because the CEO wanted a product he could use. Women and vulva owners were loving the original Snail Vibe and the new Curve and Gizi variants, but there was nothing for men. Until the Evo Masturbator. And it’s good too – in fact my boyfriend’s nicked it for his collection.

How the Evo works

The Evo is designed to work for all penises, and is especially designed for guys who like stimulation on the head of their cocks. It’s also great for larger guys who struggle to fit into closed strokers like the Lelo F1S series. The sheath is split vertically to accommodate girthier men, and the rolling glans massager at the end keeps constant contact with your helmet even as you stroke the sheath around you. Or thrust into it – it’s really up to you.

If you prefer testicle or perineal stimulation, you can flip the Evo around and have the rolling end stimulating you down there while you use the vibrating sheath on your shaft as normal. This option is great if your head is too sensitive for the stroker. Or if you just like having your balls massaged!

Svibe Evo: first impressions

Upon opening the box, the Evo feels premium. Its silicone form is stiff enough to hold its shape, but soft enough to feel great against your skin. With a generous drizzle of water-based lube, of course!  There’s also some gentle ridges that press against your shaft during use, and a strips of little silicone nubs designed to press, massage and vibrate up near the sensitive top of your penis during use. It also comes with a zippable storage case that holds both it and the charging cord. And while I’m not much for accessories, it’s by far the best storage solution that I’ve seen come free with a toy.

The Evo was larger and heavier than I expected, but still fit neatly into my hand. It also it charged pretty quickly, which is definitely what you want. The control buttons are easily reached during use and I like the way you can have different vibration patterns in the shaft and head. But once I tried actually using it, the slide-and-roll tip sensations really jumped out at me.

Unfortunately, this is where I discovered that intense vibration on the tip of my dick isn’t really for me. Which explains a bit. On the other hand, I tried it on my partner during sex and he thinks the Evo is the best masturbator ever. So much so that he now owns our review unit.  He loves the way the head unrolls to stimulate his glans while uses the shaft sheathe like a stroker.

Let’s talk about size

Look, size generally doesn’t matter. But when it comes to using the Evo, you’re need to be at least 6” long to feel the glans stimulator when you insert yourself into the toy. While shorter men will still be able to use the Evo for testical/perineal pleasure, you won’t be able to enjoy the full range of stimulation offered by the toy.

Further, if you’re the kind of guy who likes a tight hand grip when you’re masturbating, you may find the Evo a bit of an uncomfortable handful. And sure, you don’t have to death grip your dick during masturbation. Yes getting used to gentler stimulation will help with enjoying partnered sex. But if you’re used to and like the sensation and just want to get off, the Evo might not be for you. There are also other toys out there for edging if you’re dealing with premature ejaculation issues or trying to retrain your body’s pleasure pathways.

The takeaway

The Evo is a premium masturbator with a premium price point. And honestly I think it offers you more for your money than a lot of comparably priced male toys. It’s slide-and-roll tech is really unique, which is a plus. And if you do like vibrations on the head of your penis, you’ll love the Evo. I personally like the way its designed for active use as well, rather than running on autopilot. Your mileage may vary on that front, of course.

SVibe Evo pros

  • Intense penis head stimulation
  • Fits all penis sizes
  • Medical grade silicone
  • Designed for active use
  • Great for partnered fun

SVibe Evo cons

  • Not great if you don’t like vibrations on your glans
  • Best for men 6” or longer
  • Can’t be used hands-free
  • Not as grippy as ‘real-feel’ TPE strokers

Should you got one? If you’re sized for it and like the sensations it’s bringing then absolutely! Doubly so if you’re in a relationship where pleasure is more than inserting a penis into a vagina or ass. Ultimate the Evo is a solid product with a very unique offering. The question is more whether it’s for you – or at least your boyfriend.
